Nurtured by Nature Access Program
Nurtured by Nature Access Program
For a variety of reasons many students across Victoria don’t have the opportunity to visit a botanic garden and many also are not able to regularly access natural outdoor environments for learning or leisure.
Therefore, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria has established the Nurtured by Nature Access Program which aims to improve access to our gardens for Victorian students through one-off subsidised excursions.
Through the program selected schools receive the following support:
- Subsidised travel costs to either the Melbourne or Cranbourne Gardens ($10 per student)
- A free of charge curriculum-based learning program
- A range of digital resources to complement classroom learning
Applications
Two application rounds open each year and schools interested in applying for the Nurtured by Nature Access Program must complete the application form that is available at the bottom of this page when applications are open. There are limited places available each year and applications are assessed to support:
- Schools who have not previously received funding
- Special Development schools
- Rural or Regional schools
- Low ICSEA ranked schools
- Western-metropolitan schools
- High CALD enrolment schools
- High Indigenous enrolment schools
