Daniel Ohlsen

Botanist

Daniel Ohlsen is a taxonomist with a core research interest in the ferns of the Australasian and Malesian regions. Daniel is currently also writing a complete Bryophyte Flora for Victoria as an extension to the plant identification website VicFlora, and establishing a fern sporebank for Victoria to complement the holdings of the Victorian Conservation Seedbank. He has also been involved with various other projects, including maintenance and updating the vascular plants in VicFlora, the collection of new plant specimens for the herbarium, providing conservation assessments for threatened species, writing profiles for the Flora of Australia online, and teaching of botany and related courses.
